Sunday Routine

Thankfully I don't work on Sunday's so this means the whole day is mine. Usually all my Sunday's are relatively the same. Here's my Sunday routine.

I don't tend to waste my day In bed so I always get up 9am

Next I go for a run to the sea front not usually stop to admire the views as I'm too busy running.
I come back and do a bit of a home workout to set me of for the day. Obviously I rise of after this.

Sunday is my clear skin days (if I'm not going out) I would definitely invest in buying a face steamer, I use mine once a week to open my pours and keep them clean. I then go clean and moisturise my face with my simple products- almost ran out!

All these product works so well with my skin and I saw a massive difference when I went back to my simple face creams and washes along with Olay.

Now the day is mine...
I get dressed in comfortable top and jeans usually.

Breakfast is usually Weetabix with a cup of tea; filling you up without bloating, bonus!

After that I go and sort my pets out, feed the guineapigs and rabbit and take the dogs for a walk if it hasn't been done.

By now it's lunch time and I'll either have:
Family over or to visit
Meet friends
Bake
Or go shopping: food or clothing

Dinner time! Eating healthy is a must do. Quick tips- reduce on the carbs have filling foods instead of loads of food, cover your plate in vegetables!!!!! Or if your having a takeaway go for the least calories for Chinese I vote for small chicken chow mien.

If your like me and swamped in college work I spend my Afternoon and evening doing revision and essays so I don't fall behind. I found if your not taking all this new information in re-write your revision in a new notepad. You'll be surprised on what you can remember.

Thanks for reading:)

Mid week wonder

Sorry for not posting many blogs recently,  I have been hounded with so much work within the last month due to Christmas around the corner,  so I apologise and will be posting a lot more after Christmas season.

Anyway,  It's Mid week wonder. 3 beauty facts coming up;

1. When getting out the bath or shower if you pat your skin dry it will keep the moisture in and keeping it much more hydrated and healthier.

2. Scalp massages for 2 minutes a day is really good for your hair, it increased blood flow and circulates. Making the hair healthier over time.

3. If your like me I tend to fill my hair with products for keeping it healthy textured and styled,  but this leaves a lot of products in your hair the normal shampoo can't remove,  so once a week use clarifying shampoo to make sure it's gone.

Thank you for reading my blog :)

Mid week wonder

Hello, it's half way through the week, meaning it's 3 beauty facts time:)

1. Steam your nails,  if you want the matte look paint your nails and then put over hot water about 5 inches away and it should go matte rather then shinny.

2. Another nail tip, before you paint your own nails put oil around the nail for when you have excess polish it will be much easier to remove.

This one isn't to do with nails.

3.  If you have lip stick on, many people know this trick: put translation power on through 1 ply of tissue paper or you can use the same colour  of eye shadow and blushers instead of the powder for more colour pigment.

Mid week wonder

1. When you put in a hair mask in make sure you rinse with cold water to close the hair cuticles.

2. Once you have a shower it is the best time to moisturise,  this is because your skin has been de-oiled and will absorb the cream better.

3. With blushes use powders after the base with your makeup, but if you are using cream make sure this is the first thing that touches your skin, if you want a healthy makeup look.

Eyelashes and eyebrows monthly routine

Hello everyone,

I thought I'll talk about eyelash and brow dye, I must do this about once a month and honestly I wouldn't turn back. And I like the idea of "semi permanent".
I have black dye for my eyelashes so I don't look to dead if I have a no makeup day asI have blonde eyelashes. Also I found out after getting it done that mascara holds a lot better when I apply it.

With my brows once again there not visible as there blonde, so I bought a pack of brown dye to do myself because if I get them done in a salon there most likely going to be too dark and not fit with my natural hair colour. I would recommend this to everyone to either be able to see them or even out the eyebrow shade.

I would suggest getting this done or if you do it yourself like me, watch this clip: link

Detox drink

Hello,
When I go to college I like to feel fresh and
ready for the day. The best way I found to continue this feeling throughout the day is having a detox drink.
I have lemon lime and mint leaves, as I found the best reviews on this particular drink.

I cut all of the lemon and lime in medium slices then put it in a glass container,  after I put about 9 mint leaves in with it. Once the ingredients are in a add 2 handfuls of ice and fill the rest with cold water.
I advice to leave it over night ready for the morning.

Mid week wonder

Yes it is half way through the week when I share 3 beauty facts with you.

1.
Hair!
It's so important that you keep your hair healthy as possible and to reduce spit ends as much as possible.  So I was going through a few blogs recently and they tell you to add perfume to your hair to make it smell nice. Don't!  It will harm your hair as it is made from chemicals,  if you want sweet smelling hair I suggest buying shampoo such as bed head as it had a nice scent.

2. Nails
it's such a pain waiting for your nails to dry but most the time it smears, so I trick to dry them is to put them in a bowl of cold water and wait 3 minutes and time you take them out they're dry.

3. Concealers
so many people ask the question,  why is there: yellow, orange,  blue, green  and pink concealers?
Each have a purpose.
Yellow is for blue bags under your eyes.
orange or peach is to neutralise your skin
blue is to reduce pink areas
green is for redness
and purple is for yellow bruising on the skin
Not everyone uses all the colours it depends on your skin type.

Mid week wonder

Eye liner

If you have bought pencil eye liner that crumbles when you try to apply it, the best way to prevent this is to  put the pencil eye liner in the freezer 15 minutes prior to using it. This will stop the crumbling. But otherwise I would advice getting another one.

Nail polish

If you have run of nail varnish remover and want to change the colour and take it of, apply another coat of nail polish one nail at a time and this should lift of the previous polish then wipe away with a cotton ball.

Perfume

Only apply a small amount of perfume on to yourself,  this is because when you walk out the door you don't want to bombard others with a strong scent. As you become used to the smell and then apply more product, leaving you stinking of fragrances.

Mid week wonder

Drinking water.

You should aim to drink 8 glasses of water 1.6 litres of water a day. This helps to:
Increases energy levels – Since your brain is mostly water, drinking it helps you think, focus and concentrate better and be more alert. As an added bonus, your energy levels are also boosted!
Promotes weight loss. Removes by-products of fat. It also may stop you from eating as you are full from drinking.
Flushes out toxins
Improves skin completion Moisturizes your skin, keeps it fresh, soft, glowing and smooth. Gets rid of wrinkles. It’s the best anti-aging treatment around!
Boosts Immune System  Drinking plenty of water helps to boost your immune system, This then tells you, that you are less likely to become ill by illnesses such as flu.
 Natural Headache Remedy
Prevents Cramps & Sprains - Proper hydration helps keep joints lubricated and muscles more elastic so joint pain is less likely.

Blusher

If you look at this diagram it suggest places that would fit each face shape. Manny people copy artist that they like however they most likely have a different face shape to yours.
Although I might look like much of a difference, every small thing matters when doing your makeup.

The third fact is about your nails.
When you want to grow your nails it's hard when they are week and end up snapping,  you can either invest on stronger nail varnish serum or use this method of rubbing excess cream onto your cuticles this will help your nails to be stronger when they start growing. This is because they become hydrated.

Mid week wonder

1. tweezing!

This is a painful job of keeping yourself polished. To keep the pain down its better to do this when your skin and hair follicles are soft. So when you are going to tweez do it getting out the shower or bath, or if you have no time for that, Get a cotton wall ball and run it under warm water then dap onto your eyebrows this should help when plucking.

2. Towel dry you hair the right way.

Dont rub your hair when you finish washing it! this causes it to be frizzy when it drys and damages hair as the hair is at its vulnerable. instead gently squeeze excess water out your hair.

3. Dont pump your mascara!

(moving wand in and out) as it puts air bubbles in the case and cause the solution to dry out quicker equaling in a shorter life span. to stop this make sure when you close it is sealed, also when doing your make up not to pump it.

Whats on my book shelf

I have 3 shelves on my book case,  I'm posting what I put on display if you need any ideas to change your room around or decorate it.
Each shelf if a different size!
Starting from the bottom; I have my wooden jewelery box, centred.  And either side is a teddy that my brother got me. On the other side is ornaments from abroad one is from Disney land Paris- princess belle and a weird pine cone is from... Italy?
You can't also see my two favourite perfumes, as I like the sweet smell to them. The left is one directions perfume which I like but don't use often; as it doesn't linger for long, then the other (square) one is 'just pink'.
On the next shelf is pretty full and the hair products is on my previous post.
There also more perfumes from Accessorize (came in a Christmas set)
I have 'simple' hydrating cream. Easy access so I don't forget my base coat in the morning and night.
Last but not least I have a pink jar from B&M, love this it comes in to handy to put bits and bobs in.
Last shelf is; two pink waffle affect glass candles either side of a set of three body butters (coconut,  raspberry and mango).
I highly recommend buying mango scents as I find it lasts longer then others.
Can't forget my hairbrush that is also Andrew Burton, it doesn't pull my hair but keeps it tame and silky.
If your wondering what's on top it's just my TV.

Mid week wonder

More is less

A lot of people use more shampoo product for it to have more foam, however less is more, for the people who use more then a quarter of your palm is too much. this then reacts differently and does the opposite jobs and doesn't clean your hair properly. This is why you should use as little of the main washing product as possible to keep your hair cleaner for longer, it also has a deeper wash.

Lashes.
Fed up with spending time doing your eye shadow then it gets ruined from your mascara going everywhere. use a piece of paper behind the eyelashes then stroke the mascara brush, it will go through the lashes then onto the paper, however it should look effortless

Nails
If you want the salon looking nails but don't have the equipment to do the shapes or drawings, use a cocktail stick, do this by:
Dipping in the nail varnish colour
create the shape, (small lines)
cover with topcoat

Eye lash + brow dye

So I have had both my eyelashes and browsdyed in the past, but they wear of so I recently got then re-done; as I have blonde lashes which are not the best look (my opinion).
I had the colour dark blonde which is two shades darker then my natural hair otherwise it looks odd, and same with the eyelashes but black.

Another tip which is why eyelash dye is good to have it, makes the mascara application easier but also helps it to stay on, basically a primer for your eyelashes.
Not only did I get that done I had college after so I had to have a OOTD prepared ready for the next two lessons. I didn't start till after lunch. Best Mondays ever.

My outfit was a black and white top with different sleeves, with dark blue denim trousers  The shoes I wore was my favourite pair the brown point shoes.
Accessories I put with it was my gold chain.

Mid week wonder

Handy facts

  1. Use Earl grey teabags to get rid of a sunburn. When you are red and irritable as you are burning from the inside out rap tree of them into a small towel or I use a flannel then soak into a bowl of water until you think the its dissolved then hold it onto the sunburned areas.
  2. Everyone loves the look of candles in jars but its so awkward trying to light them if you don't have a long lighter. use a dry spaghetti  strand then light the end, this will ignite and be easier to reach the awkward candle.
  3. Dreaded blackheads! this is a natural way to remove them. To do this: use a cotton ball or pad and get fine salt, baking soda and gel facial wash.- Mix a table spoon of baking soda and salt  into your gel, Once this is done apply on a damp face After this stage make sure you leave it on for 5 minute. Watch this magic work.

Make it yourself

Prefer homemade products?

How to make drug store bought beauty products.

From exfoliators to hair masks.
  1. Starting from the hair mask, this is to help repair broken or damaged hair if conditioner wont help it.... I would use this as a last resort before cutting it.  Cover your hair in 1/4 of oil, hunny or eggs then leave in for 30-60 minutes place a shower cap over your hair or Clingfilm to keep moisture in and stop your hair touching other objects. To take it out rinse your hair out with shampoo then conditioner, this should help to make it feel softer and healthier.
  2.   Exfoliator. ran out at home? or like having handmade products- like products from 'Lush', Use 2  table spoons of sugar and then same with the amount of lemon then mix together then you can use. I haven't yet done this as I still have my 'soap and glory' exfoliator.
  3. Your favourite  mascara gone clumpy? Get a mug and place hot water 3/4 of the way, preferably kettle water and then place (sealed) mascara into the mug for about 15 minutes it should turn out how you first bought it.
